Stay in a hotel in Carvoeiro, a traditional town with every amenity
Enjoy your holidays in Carvoeiro, a picturesque fishing town
If you choose to spend your holidays in Carvoeiro, in the Algarve, the nearby picturesque fishing town should be your first stop for shops, restaurants and bars.
Carvoeiro town is not as busy or well-known as Albufeira or Praia da Rocha but what you may lose in buzzing nightlife you will gain in authenticity.
The town is made up of traditional fishermen's houses set on narrow, cobbled streets, arranged on cliffs around a sheltered cove beach.
Although tourism is now the main activity in Carvoeiro town, colourful fishing boats still regularly work right off the beach and if you're up early you can watch them bring in the catch of the day.

There are three main shopping streets in Carvoeiro town and a square lined with shops offering everything from souvenirs and beachwear to wine and golf gear. This is also the place to go for coffee, cake or an ice-cream during the day or a few beers in the evening.
